STARS--Striving for Trans-inclusion and Anti-Racism in Science Learning

A workshop session by Sal Alper, Lavender de Julia, Felix Duley and Eli Ramos

The Exploratorium STARS team (Striving for Trans Inclusion and Anti-Racism in Science learning) is a cohort of 13 transitional-aged youth (TAY) that centers trans and queer people and people of color. In this session they will share the work they have done to build a supportive community within an education institutional and produce innovative educational offerings provide Exploratorium audiences with experiences that center excluded identities in STEAM. This youth and workforce development program has a vision to expand inclusion, belonging, and relevance in informal science learning with a focus on addressing inequities based on gender, sexuality, and race.
