Kyle Elwell is 9 years old, and a third grader at Altura Preparatory School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Kyle was designated female at birth, and began identifying as male before he was 3 years old. Kyle began educating his peers and others around him about gender identity and expression at 4 years old. Over the past few years, Kyle has been a volunteer presenter, trainer, and panelist for the Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico, educating adults and teenagers about how young children express and identify their gender. Kyle is a friend to all. He enjoys riding horses, and loves to play piano, chess, and practical jokes on his mom.
