My name is Ann Guiam, pronouns she/they, I am the Youth Organizing Program Assistant at the Ryse Center, making me a pipeline staff. As an individual who is part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I stand with action and purpose to be in solidarity with everyone in the spectrum. The challenges our community faces is never measurable because of the intersectionalities and other issues that come along with it, and unfortunately, it is never one thing. The incredible, vibrant, empowering people who create a huge and great impact in our communities, make most efforts to solidify what matters and how everyone can make a change, despite being in a society full of misconceptions and views about the LGBTQIA+ community. We are the same people who continue to fight and inspire others to be who they are, and represent ourselves in the best ways we can. There are still various issues affecting LGBTQIA+ BIPOC until now, and it motivates me to continue to be part of the work, pushing with all love, solidarity, and self power.
